Creative tools
The software I use for design and publishing
Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva are the core tools I use across graphic design, books, illustration, and publishing.
The tools behind the design
I primarily use Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat, along with Canva. These tools support my graphic design, book design, illustration, and publishing work.
Different projects call for different tools. A book interior, a logo, a photograph, and a social media graphic each have their own needs. Choosing the right application helps keep the work organized from the first layout through the final files.
Adobe InDesign
InDesign is a page-layout application suited to books, magazines, annual reports, brochures, and other publications. It brings typography, images, and multiple pages together in a coordinated document.
Adobe Photoshop
Photoshop supports image editing and work with raster artwork. It is useful for preparing photographs, refining images, and developing visual elements used in a larger design.
Adobe Illustrator
Illustrator supports vector artwork, including logos, illustrations, and graphic elements that need to work at different sizes. It is useful when clear shapes, lines, and scalable artwork are central to a project.
Adobe Acrobat
Acrobat supports working with PDFs during review and delivery. PDFs help clients review a layout as a complete document and provide a consistent format for sharing finished designs.
Canva
Canva is another tool in my creative workflow. Sweet Bake is a self-directed mockup project I created to learn how to work in Canva, exploring a bakery identity through packaging, print materials, and social media posts.
Choosing files that work for your project
If you need to update a design yourself, let me know before the project begins. We can discuss the application you have access to, which files you need, and what should be included in the handoff.
Let’s talk about your project.
Tell me what you’re creating and how you plan to use the finished files.
